Welcome...

to the RMAF Museum Website

The Royal Malaysian Air Force has a short history; and the RMAF Museum even shorter. From a one aircraft airforce in 1958 and a crew of 14 men, the RMAF has grown to a force it is today, with MiG-29s, F-18s and SU-30s. We hope these pages will give you a fair understanding of Malaysia's military aviation heritage. But there's nothing like seeing, touching and feeling the history unfolding before you, so do make a visit to the Museum when you can afford the time. Entrance is free.

Aircraft on display are all phased-out aircraft. For current aircraft, please visit this website.

 Lest We Forget...
EDMS The Museum aspires to be an aviation history Resource Centre with state-of-the-art electronic document management system accessable via LAN, VPN or the internet.

Plans are in hand to digitize its sizeable collection of documents, newspaper cuttings, photographs and manuscripts and and make them available online.

Funds are being sought for this project.

AIROD Just in case you are not aware that Airod started as an Air Force facility, the pictues and narratives herein will tell the story. It's own website unfortunately didn't quite reflect this fact.
SQN HISTORY These pages contain a bit of history of the early years of the Air Force. Individual squadron stories could be included if only we get contributors — serving, retired personnel or alumnies — caring to submit something of interest. A good example would be The Twin Pioneer Newsletters by Ron Tannock of New Zealand and Lift Off Newsletters by the Helicopter Operations (Malaya Emergency) Association.
TWIN PIONEER NEWSLETTERS Thanks to Roy Tannock of New Zealand who kindly put this Muzium on his mailing list, we are privileged to enjoy his monthly newsletters. We also have snippets of Twin Pioneer stories posted from time to time to keep the interest going. For example, would you believe that there were plans to upgrade the venerable Twin Pioneer into a Turboprop model. Have a look at these three designs.
LIFT OFF Thanks to Brian Llyod, Secretary of the Helicopter Operations (Malaya Emergency) Association we are also on their mailing list for this very interesting newsletter about heli ops during the Malayan Emergency.
CHIEFS GALLERY For a quick access to the Chiefs Gallery, please click on the sidebar title.
