SYCAMORE: FOUND AT THE BELUM FOREST RESERVE, PERAK

Last year, in March 2001 this wreckage was found in the Belum Forest Reserve in Upper Perak. According to Shaharom our avid wreck hunter, this could be the wreck of one of the two RAF Sycamore helicopters that were lost in 1961 ie either:

• XE 322 crashed 20 March 1961 at grid ref VP 579 699.
• XG 522 crashed 4 April 1961 at 0524N 10130E

The wreckage was located 15 km ENE of Temengor 50 km from Grik.
