IPOH, Fri. - The British High Commission will gather more information on the wreckage of a World War Two bomber found by villagers at the top of Bukit Bintang Hijau near Lenggong.

Several Kampung Changkat Berangan villagers discovered the wreckage of what is believed to be British bomber while looking for rattan in the jungle. "We would like to see the photos (of the ill-fated plane)," said the British High Commission's defence adviser Colonel Roger Little in Kuala Lumpur today. He said the photos would then be shown to the Royal Air Force Historical Department in London for further deliberation to ascertain origin and its crew. Little said there was a possibility that they would send officers to the site if the wreckage was that of a British plane.

The villagers who had kept the discovery a secret for some time, recently led Bernama to the scene in a five-hour journey through dense jungle and steep hills. The expedition found writings in English on the bomber's body, including the number "1941" and two unexploded bombs.

Little said he would make a trip to lpoh in two weeks which would include an appointment to meet the reporter who visited the scene to gather more information. - Bernama
