This helicopter was originally operated the Royal Navy. It came into service with the Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) Air Wing in the late 80's.
The aircraft has since been phased out by the RMN in the year 2000. The RMN is due to receive her new Westland Super Lynx next year (2003).
The former Chief of Navy, Admiral Tan Sri Abu Bakar Jamal, back in the year 2001 was kind enough to consider donating one to the Air Force Museum. The aircraft arrived at the Museum by low-loader from RMN Base Lumut on 29 November, 2002 at 13:30 pm.
