The Provost aircraft was utilised as a basic trainer replacing the Chipmunk at RMAF Flying Training School Kuala Lumpur. The school was then moved to RMAF Base Alor Setar in 1964. These aircraft did a sterling job and trained hundreds of RMAF pilots in the 1960's. The Provosts were decommissioned from flying in 1972, and replaced by the BAe Bulldog aircraft.
Three of the Provosts were assigned as practical training aircraft for trainee technicians at RMAF School of Aircraft Engineering Kinrara, while others ended up gate guardians at several air bases. The Museum has two Provosts and hopes one day to restore them to flying standard and put them back in the air.
