This is the latest addition to the Museum's collection. The Bulldog trainer aircraft arrived at the Museum from Alor Star on 12 Sep 98. Museum personnel and Alor Star technicians tooks about 5 hours to assemble it for static display.
The Bulldog was the RMAF's trainer aircraft in the 70's as a replacement of the Piston Provost. It was then replaced by the Pilatus PC-7 turbo-trainer in the early 80's. It was then relegated to Flight Line simulation duties to teach trainee mechanics the basics of aircraft handling, then as Staff Continuation Training aircraft, and finally as aircraft for the University Air Squadron.
Age took its toll, and the aircraft was completely phased out of RMAF service last year. It was then donated to the Kedah Flying Club. Plans are in hand to refurbish the aircraft with the help of the local branch of the Royal Aeronautical Society and British Aerospace.
